National Engineering Research Center
for Beijing Biochip Technology (NERCBBT) is the leading center
of biochip research in China, dedicated to the research and
development of biochip technology, nano technology, bioinformatics,
and bio-automation. NERCBBT was founded in 2000 and consists
of research laboratories from several outstanding universities
and research institutes, namely Tsinghua University, Huazhong
University of Sciences & Technology, Chinese Academy of
Medical Sciences and the Military Academy of Medical Sciences.
The NERCBBRT headquarters is located in a 250,000 squart feet
facility in the Zhongguancun Life Science Park in northwest
Beijing. Currently, there are more than 300 staff, students
and postdocs, including 9 professors and associate professors
and 6 overseas internationally- experienced senior scientists
working in the center.
The National Engineering Research Center for
Beijing Biochip Technology is also a national experimental
education and training center for advanced studies. For 4
years, 71 postdocs and graduate students have received their
education and training in the center, and many of them, 2
Post-PhD, 7 PhDs, and 16 Master students, have successfully
received their degrees at the Center. The NERCBBRT is always
interested in talented individuals joining the center and
promoting furgher development of biochip technology and biomedical
technologist.
