Universal Kit for Bacterial DNA Extraction

CapitalBio Universal Kit for Bacterial DNA Extraction is designed to aid DNA extraction based on the physical breakage of cells and heat-induced protein denaturation. Researchers need only to add the cell suspension into the lysis buffer provided, vortex and heat the solution to extract DNA which can be used directly for PCR amplification and other analyses (see Instruments tab for complementary CapitalBio Extractor™ 36 ).

★ Universal application: the same protocol can be applied for both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria
★The extracted DNA can be used directly for PCR, including long-fragment PCR and multiplex PCR
★ High sensitivity: target genes can be PCR amplified from 1 μl of lysis solution of DNA extracted from as low as 10³ CFU/ml Staphylococcus

★ Convenient and time-saving: complete DNA extraction in about 10 min requiring only two simple operations

Operation Procedure

• Mix cells with lysis buffer from the extraction kit in 1.5 ml microtubes
• Vortex on the CapitalBio Extractor™ 36 for 5 min
• Incubate at 95 °C for 5 min in a water bath
